Slow Foods and Hypertension Control

The term ‘slow foods’ refers to meals that are made out of fresh farm ingredients rich in essential nutrients versus the processed ‘fast foods’ many Americans indulge in. There have been developments in the restaurant industry of establishments that uphold the culture of only serving slow foods. Some people have even adopted these eating habits in their daily lives. These foods are rich in minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium. They are also rich in amazing flavor. Additionally, slow foods are locally sourced both for quality and freshness as well as sustaining local farmers, versus genetically engineered, mass produced food products.
